Kinda cool, but also kinda pointless? Might have some interesting applications in the future, but I was left going meh after checking out the presentation.

Do I want to walk around the room with a head set on, pasting a screen to a wall, instead of just looking at the computer screen or TV? Not really.

Exactly. Living in a hologram is too much like reality, since the entire universe is a hologram.

Agree. Even with consoles I prefer the gameplay of an old-fashioned thumb destroying controller. With the controller in your lap the interface disappears and your mind is in the game. With the wii onwards the game comes out into your living room. That's not escapism.

In the grown up world, the fastest way to interface with software is still hot-keys - a legacy of pre-GUI DOS.

I agree that the fastest way to interface with software is keyboard shortcuts. But is it because of DOS? I think it's because of five-fingered hands and the cerebellum, which you can train to do dozens of commands while hardly engaging the cerebrum.
