I've been using a Roland Edirol R09-HR to capture audio in the field, syncing it up afterwards to the mono track that my Nikon D90 records. Predictably enough, wind noise has become an issue. I hacked together a DIY foam windshield, but it lacks both consistency and professional appearance.
I just learned about the Rycote Mini Windjammer. Rycote mentions that their Mini Windjammer can be used with or without a foam windscreen. Having only limited audio experience myself, I'm wondering if a foam windscreen is necessary in conjunction with a windjammer. Theoretically, I'd think that the windjammer would be sufficient, and that the foam windscreen might well end up as an expensive dust bunny collector.
