Wind screen for internal mic

Hello:
I plan to use my DVX100A off the beaten path where it won't always be practical to use an external shotgun. Does anyone have any recommendations for adding a wind screen to the internal mic? I'm interested in both homemade and commercial solutions. Any good tips?

Thanks,
martin

Buy some  fun fur from a fabric store and make your own! There is a picture of one Jarred made somewhere looked reallycool. like a mini wind jammer! 8)

Thanks Elvis. Would this be the equivalent of wrapping some fake fur around the mic, sewn up in some form fitting fashion? Presumably it's best to have a dead airspace between the fur and the mic, but that gets a little harder to rig up, unless there's a clever trick that I'm missing.

My search of the site for a solution came up empty, even though you suggest that others have already solved this problem. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
martin

fun fur.. it will cost you about $10 to make a dozen of them. Just dont do the whole cheetah print thing or people will laugh at you.

Re: Wind screen for internal mic

Thanks everyone. It sounds like the best approach is to make one yourself (snug to the mic), provided you avoid the fur being too much fun!

Out of curiousity, will that prevent the grinding zoom noise from being recorded too?
