Some wind noise is fairly easy to remove. If it's a low rumble that's interfering with dialogue, that's pretty easy to fix. If it's a constant whistling wind, well, I don't know what you can do about that.
For the low rumble, use the Track EQ effect, and cut the bass frequencies. You can remove quite a bit of bass before it starts to have a significant effect on the dialogue. Play with it until you find the best compromise.
Nothing beats getting it right in acquisition, of course -- a good furry windsock beats all the post-manipulation you can do. But if you're stuck already, try the bass cut, it may salvage your track.
Which mic are you using -- the camera's built-in mic? If so, I know Jarred has a little furry mic cover for his... I think they discussed it here at one point but I don't know where the thread is. Hopefully big J will write in and tell you where he got it.
This isnt the answer you are looking for.. but I made mine out of fun fur from the fabric store... And yes the cheetah print was tempting
I actually have a real one as well care of http://www.mikemuff.com/ , but it was a little small as I recieved it way before the DVX even came out so it was designed for the GL2. They do have a DVX specific one now, and If sewing isnt your forte, then $39.95 is a pretty good price for it from them.
