Rycote sells little onboard wind muffs - not sure if they have something specifically for the hvx though. I wouldnt spend any money on the onboard mic though, doesnt exactly get much in the way of decent sound. Why not put that money towards a shotgun in a shockmount if you are stuck with having the mic on the camera? Is there a really good reason you are using the onboard mic?
thanks, I'll look into those little Rycot buggers. And thanks for asking questions, cause I could use the help. I'm shooting an outdoor dance event, with lot's of loud music. I do have a seinheiser 416, I'm just not sure that's the best way to go. I will have it, and look into a shock mount or something proper, cause I've been stuffing the mike mount that came with the hvx with photo sponge and kleenex to get a tight grip on the mike. I don't find the onboard mike all that bad, especially when it's recorded to dvcpro. My issue is a one man team. Let me know what you think my options could be under the circumstance
