Wim Wenders, Land of Plenty in B. Hills

This movie was showing in a Portuguese movie channel this morning (Lusomundo Premium for those who have access to it). I didn't get a chance to watch the whole movie. But saw bits and pieces of it. The footage looked great. I don't know how it looked on the big screen, but on the small screen, it didn't look live DV at all.

I was amazed with how it looked.

I think they are going to show it later on again. Maybe I'll get a chance to watch it.

It looks fabulous on the big screen. And, mind you, he did NOT shoot 16:9, squeeze or otherwise. That's just letterbox you're looking at. The movie was instructive for me, particularly, because you can see what the strengths and weaknesses of the camera are, and how Wenders immediately understood that and capitalized on them.

...and behind the camera was Franz Lustig, one of the best cameraoperator in Germany. He shot also Wenders last film "Don't come knocking" - but not on DVX. ;)

Is there anybody with the info key? 25p or 24p shooting?

Once, I read posted by Jan that Wenders shot with a PAL DVX version (but also she wrote his name with a wrong spelling and it sounded like Jan was far away of that one particular Wenders' production, so..., maybe because he's an european filmmaker, she easily thought that he shot with an european camera). OK, Wenders is european but the shooting locations were in US and the production house is in|dig|ent (Independent Digital Entertainment), a US company:

and here it is Wenders' participation:

as well, you can follow a Donata Wenders's photo where it's possible to see Wim Wenders and Franz Lustig on location (down to left):

Hi Emanuel,

The film was shot with two PAL DVX100AE. In other words, it was shot in 25p.
Thanks for the answer, my friend! But are you sure? What's your source? Because I doubt when I read the same:

it's

(1) an american production;

(2) film-out for sure;

so...24p it makes sense, isn't it?

Sorry forbringing this thread up, but I just finished watching the DVD. It has lot's of info on it about the cam, the making of etc.

It was shot on a DVX100E - not on a DVX100AE.

Just in case someone stumbles over this thread like me and wonders.
