Hello DVX people,
Are you a director, producer, film student, or even a crazy drunk with access to a video camera? Do you have an idea that you're serious about producing but can't seem to get it on paper?
I'm an experienced (but not yet professional) writer looking for a project to collaborate on in October. I've worked on several projects over the internet and have had a good experience each time so far. I'm willing to help you develop a short script in exchange for a writing credit and DVD copy of the results. Just like you, I know what I'm doing but still have more to learn, and the best way to learn is by writing and making films.
You can read some examples of my short scripts online at:

What I'm looking for is someone with an interesting idea (or an existing script that needs a rewrite) that you believe in and are serious about producing. I'm willing to put in as little or as much work as you are--if you want to shoot something in your backyard with your buddies over the weekend, I can send you a few rough and funny pages, whereas if you're willing to invest the time and energy in getting together a crew and a schedule and so forth, I'm willing to incorporate your notes, do several drafts and treat it as if it were a real (i.e. paying) assignment.
If you think you might be interested in working together, send me an email at joeld42@yahoo.com. Please include a short description of your project, and what projects you have completed in the past. Let me know if you have an existing treatment or draft (but don't send anything yet), and what kind of scope you expect the production to be. If you don't have a specific story idea, maybe you have an interesting actor or location in mind, I'd be happy to pitch some ideas back to you.
Thanks,
Joel Davis
p.s. If you're afraid that I'm going to steal your idea, don't be. I'm just doing this for fun, and to build up my portfolio (and yours).
