Will this Signal Flow Work?

If I understanding you you want to send a wireless feed from your boom to camera? If so then consider getting a Sennheiser Plug On Transmitter and connecting the receiver to the Camera. That will transmit audio from the NTG-1 to the camera. Is that what you are asking/wanting?

If you're going through a G2, you may want to also consider rolling a backup recorder on the boom op.

The NTG-1 (and basically any other mic you might want on a boom) requires phantom power. Check out the plug-on transmitter (the 500 series, the 100 doesn't supply phantom power. And as Gohanto suggests, roll a backup recorder on the boom op.

Thanks. I have the 100 series to no phantom for me. Will a sennheiser butt plug give the mic phantom power? (SKP-100 g3)

Unfortunately, the g3 100 doesn't offer phantom either. Perhaps one of the little Sound Devices single channel preamps (MP-1 or MM-1) and then the cable in your first post wired into your current transmitter would be an option, both preamps are in the $300-350 range.

Damn! Should've bought a mic with a battery compartment. Oh well I suppose. Thanks for all the help. Looks like XLR will go on the shoping cart!

If you are using a boom with a shotgun, you should really just run a cable. Wireless degrades you audio considerably. If you want relyable wireless with great sound then Lectrosonics is the way - though I can't afford that just yet. I have the Senn G3 wireless, and butt plug. Yep - no Phantom. But I just use it for dynamic mics in an interview scenario. I also have the Rode NT3 that takes a 9v if I really want to boom wireless. But I have yet to do that because a 30 foot XLR cable handles about any boom job I need to do.
