Will this setup suffice for filming skating?

I'm fairly new to the forums and was wondering what audio setup you'd recommend for filming skating.

I have a DVX100B with a Century Optics fisheye. Would something like an Audio Technica AT897 with Azden SMH-1 shoe mount be adequate for a limited budget?

I will be doing a mix of still shots, as well as shots while i'm skating. Will the Azden mount be ok for this type of filming and also I was wondering if the fisheye would catch the microphone since it will be hanging out quite a bit.

Any help would be appreciated

Are you planning to do some POV handheld shots while you are actually skating? You want the sound of the skates cutting through the ice?

If it were me, I would run a lav down the pant leg and make sure the production had adequate insurance. :)

I think he means skateboarding. Also when he says "as well as shots while i'm skating" he means he will be skating as he follows another skater to get moving shots.

That's just my assumption.

Ahhh, that makes a lot more sense. I have seen those skateBOARDING videos all over the web but found the idea of shooting video from ICE skates a little off the beaten path.

A little demonstration of how we fill in the blanks with our own personal history. I spent my youth playing hockey but barely ever touched a skateboard.

A wireless lav rig might still be the way to go but, again, the risk to the equipment is going to be huge. Assuming the board with the camera is going to skating a lot "safer" then they guy your filming, a shotgun might be the best choice.

Cheers
