Will This Lens Work with my DOF Adapter?

If it is truly Nikon compatible it will mount to an adapter with Nikon mount. I don't see anything listed about the aperture, You might need a whole lot of light and the optics might be crap. Personally I think a good starting point is a Nikon 50mm 1.4 you can find these for under $100 and the light loss is not so bad. I only use primes no zooms as of yet. Here is a link to one.

can somebody explain words like aperture & prime for me? i dont know what them words mean in the photo/video world. im new to all of this stuff..

The aperature is basically the F stop. So the more you stop down the lense the darker the image gets. IE. F1.4=bright F16= dark. Generally to get the sharpest image you need to stop your lense down. So for the nikon f1.4 around f2.8-5.6

Now with a 35mm adapter you already lose light so you want to find fast lenses 1.4-2.8 etc. But you will find on the forum that a lot of people are all scared on the light loss and what not. You should have lights before you have an adapter or know how to use them and have access to some lights. If you are shooting a project without lights, then buying an adapter is completely useless to you.

The more open the lense (F1.4) the more depth of field you will have. So focusing will be a lot more difficult and instead of a foot of room to focus you will have inches which is very inconveinent if there is movement from your actors.

Actually, it's the other way around. The lower the F-stop (and thus the larger the aperture), the LESS - or in more accurate terms, shallower - depth of field you will have. But the stuff you said afterward is correct. The focal length of your lens also has to do with the depth of field.
