Will this laptop be sufficient for FCP?

You really need a MacBook PRO. The consumer ones aren't meant for editing...much less complex HD formats like Long GOP XDCAM...or 5D footage converted to ProRes. You need a FW800 connection for your media, MINIMUM.
 
Doesn't it have integrated video too? I think that causes problems with certain filters/ applications like Color and Motion. You definitely will want a separate graphics card.
 
Hmm sounds like I should give this one a miss, thought it might be too good to be true :-\
 
Cheapest way to buy into Mac with decent not ideal performance is an iMac, next a MBP and then a Mac Pro.
