have an Athlon 64x2 +4400 3gigs or ram ati radeon 2600 hd. And the trial version of CS4 is very very choppy if i can get playback at all. I'm thinkin it's gotta be the processor. Will a AMD Phenom X4 9750 Agena 2.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor help out any? THanks

Well, that video card isn't helping. Get yourself an NVIDIA GeForce GTS or better. Quad core processors are great for Adobe software.

Anyone needing a new desktop, consider the
ASUS ESSENTIO GC5290.
You can get a refurbished one from BEST BUY.
They are having problems with the video card coming out of the socket, when shipped, that is why they have been getting returned.

Other than that, the systems work very well for editing.
You can get one for $799
Comes with Nvida GTX260 video card Cuda supported (install 196.21 drivers from Nvidia)
9 gigs of DDR3 Ram
1 Terabyte 7200 hard drive
DVD burner
i7 Processor 920.

Best bang for the video editing buck.

Again, once you get it, reseat the video card before turning on, and upgrade to windows 7
(not included, comes with Vista)

trying to make some moves with a tight budget and i figure since i'm trying to upgrade from what i already have i'd start with purchasiing a processor. My board maxs out at 4 gigs of ram. I havent jumped into any major stuff yet so imma stick with my desktop for now I would like to stay with adobe products but maan it;s gonna cost ya in hardware too. With 4 gigs of ram and a amd phenom x4 run a 30 min show some effects not many tho. Since everybody is talking quadcore for cs3 or cs4 this is a quad not the best but a quadcore
