Not sure if a teleconverter counts as support gear or not but figure this is the best place to post the following question:
Does using a step up ring to attach a 2.0X teleconverter to a filter ring of a video camera have any negative effect on the optical performance of the teleconverter?
The reason I ask is I consider purchasing a DXV Century 2.0x Tele-converter for Panasonic DVX100A/B that if I understand right has a 72mm filter ring but am not sure if it will work properly if I attach it via a step-up ring to the 62mm filter ring of my Sony PXW-X70 camcorder.
