Western Digital makes the Dual option Media Center external Hard Drive that is USB/Firewire. It runs on AC but at only .6amp you could run this on an inverter off a car battery or a gell cell of some sort.

My question is will it work with the HVX200 as a destination for streaming on the firewire and or downloading on the USB?

It comes in up to 320GB for list $260.00 down to 120GB for $149.00

Not for streaming through the firewire, unless you had a computer between the camera and the drive.

Could work for offloading via firewire, but only up to 15 cards' worth. If it has USB On The Go then it could be used for USB offloading.
