Will FCP4.5HD work with HV20?

Hi,
I just got an HV20 and I can't get FCP 4.5 to see the camera? Is there a way to do this or do I need to upgrade? Will FCP 5 work?

FCP 4.5 will not work with that camera. Or ANY HDV camera for that matter....without third party software that might still be available. the HDV format came out years after FCP 4.5 was released...thus why it doesn't support the format. Support takes between 6 months to a year to arrive. So yes, you need a newer version of FCP. Since FCP 5 isn't available, you'll have to get FCP 6, part of Final Cut Studio 2.

Or you can look up HDVxDV and Lumiere HD and see if they are still around.
