Will Adobe Premiere CS6 conflict with FCPX?

Sorry about the stupid question but I'm a total noob to video editing. I just installed Adobe's production suite on my new Imac. Initially I only wanted Photoshop and Illustrator, but it was only around $500 more for the suite which included Premiere, After Effects etc. After Effects was $900 by itself so I thought I'll just get everything and learn both Premiere CS6 and FCPX. I'm really only interested in FCPX at this point. Plus because of the adobe cloud only direction that they're taking, I thought I should just buy it while I can to avoid becoming their tenant in the future.

When I installed CS6 it asked for permission to make some changes to my system which at the time I was wondering "How is this going to affect my future installation FCPX?" So, can Premiere exist in harmony with FCPX on the same system? I'm just looking for some peace of mind before I download and install FCPX and then wish I was dead because of all possible conflicts. I think it's going to be good to be well versed in both of these apps as these are going to be really the only viable choices for many users in the future in my estimation.
Thanks so much to anyone that can help me out!

Thanks, David! How does Premiere run without the mercury engine enabled? I think Adobe's tech support was telling me the GTX680 is supported but my GTX680MX on my new Imac is not.
