will a 72mm Fisheye lens work with a step down ring?

I am interested to know if anybody has tried using a Fish Eye lens for a DVX 72mm and used a step down ring so work with the HVX?
would it cause problems when stepping down from the 82mm to the 72mm? Would that be noticeable in the image?
