Will 24p be editable in Windows MovieMaker?

I'm shooting a wedding this Friday and I'd really like to shoot in 24p. The problem is they want to do the editing and I'm pretty sure they'll be using Windows MovieMaker.

I'll be taking the footage home, capturing it, and outputting it to a quicktime file, so they won't have to worry about pulldown removal, but will there still be problems with them trying to edit a 24p quicktime file? Do I need to export it as a different format (like wmv or avi or something)?

Thanks for any help!

I strictly edit on Mac so I'm no Moviemaker expert. I do know that's an extremely lightweight consumer app. and would find it extremely unlikely that it would support 24P. 24P looks fantastic but just off the top of my head, I would avoid it with your editing situation. Final Cut Pro does support 24P, by the way. Just a thought.

24p can be edited in a normal 60i timeline so i would see no problem with using movie maker, best way to check is to shoot a clip and just test it on the closest PC before you shoot an enitre day, and then if it doesnt work.... you could edit it yourself with the couple present and their ideas

just dont use 24pA this has to be edited in a 23.98 (or whatever) time line with advance pull down removed

edit* apparently it does work just google dvx with windows movie maker and some youtube video should come up, the guy says he shot it in 24p in the comments

thanks, guys. i decided to shoot the outdoor stuff in 24p and indoor stuff in 60i. it was at the base of the rockies with rain coming in and out, so i couldn't pass up getting the best footage possible - it looked way too cool.
anyway, i think it should be fine as long as i drop the 24p sequence into a 29.97 timeline, right? i'll try it out and let y'all know how it works, in case anyone has a similar question.
thanks again.

You can edit 24p footage in Windows Movie Maker as long as it's embedded in a 60i stream. Both versions of 24p in the DVX are recorded in a 60i stream, so you can edit either 24p standard or 24pA in WMM. The only difference is that the motion in 24p standard is going to be smoother when there's a lot of motion.
