Wilderness Tripod

[TC]

I just noticed that my Bogen 3221 tripod is called a "wilderness tripod"

I use it as an all around tripod. Anyone know why it's called a wilderness tripod? I haven't had any problems using it in normal settings. How does it differ from other tripods from Bogen in this price range?

Re: Wilderness Tripod

I think that's just referring to the fact that it's a nice, lightweight tripod. Something that you could haul into the "wilderness".

Re: Wilderness Tripod

The original Wilderness (that might be it in the picture, I can't tell) - when it came out it was a camo and light green color, it had standard spiked feet, foam grips on the legs and few other special things like a camo head - it was basically a 3021 made for still wildlife guys. Some of the features are now standard on the 3021 that weren't when the Wilderness came out.
