Dude, it works for me though. I am very satisfied with the 'kit' and it saved me a buck or two. Very impressed as it is of obvious quality; sturdy; tough...
Above and beyond anything you wouldfind at Fry's or Sears.. Know what I mean?
Dude at EVS said it perfectly.. "You probally, at this time, don't need anything of higher price or quality" if and when you do, it will make a fine B Cam suppporter or to use for more rugged, run and gun stuff.
Serious, it works great for me and I have no complaints. When Im ready to move up, I will.
John, you are right. I could not remember from the Video Expo the set up I saw. And then your answear made a brain cell fire off. They had it with a ball addapter thing that was about 80 bucks on top of the normal prices. 8)
I just got this setup in the mail yesterday and it looks cool and stable. I would like to get the ball addapter later on. I can't wait to go out and give it a good thrashen.
yes.. not having a ball cancels the advantage of having light legs for quick setup. I would say its almost a necessity, and is prob ally why you cant by a sachtler or cartoni without a ball.
i decided against the wilderness legs and kinda regret it
i got the 351mv. nice and stable but kinda a hassle. i would get the wilderness and get the ball adapter if i had to do it again. but the 503 is sweet
the 503 head rules...just got one and threw it on some suuuuper light Gitzo G1157 legs (2.3lbs) i'll probably end up getting a ball, but this is good for alot of what i'm doing
