Widescreen Template in Vegas Still Adds Small Horizontal Bars

My project settings are in widescreen and when I edit, the preview window looks fine. When I render it out to DVD (Mpeg-2) it looks fine as well. It is only when I go to render it to widescreen quicktime movie or mpeg-4 for Vimeo or Youtube. I used the widescreen template in Vegas and it puts small horizontal bars. I don't know why it does that! It shouldn't! Vimeo said to export 853x480 for widescreen. I tried this and it gave the black bars. So I looked at my preview window and saw that it is actually 873x480. I uploaded to Vimeo and it worked!

Now, it just bugs me because the widescreen template should work. The pictures below should explain it better.

You see how this has no bars? This is while editing. The footage isn't true 16:9 by the way. I am actually cropping the footage. But that shouldn't matter.

Right when I start to render, look at what happens. You see the black bars?

Can anyone help?

It may be a clue that your display is set to "491x270" while editing and the display during render is set to "480x270." You can also check the box that says "Stretch video to fill output frame" in the render settings, this will very likely get rid of the bars.

Ohh! That's right. I didn't think about that option. However...won't this just stretch the picture. I mean, it's a very small amount. But knowing that my picture is getting distorted doesn't keep me happy. Haha!

I am not sure about the display thing you just said. What can I do with this?
