hey folks
i am using FCP 4.5 with 24p adv footage on a 29.97 timeline. I am shooting full screen to matte it in post. For some shots I am using the offset function in the widescreen filter to adjust the framing.
In the past, I have noticed softness, but I could bump it up or down one for clarity. However, I am still noticing significant softening - to the point that I notice it when watching the footage in a sequence. If I move it to +2 and it is soft and then to +1 to improve it it clears up about the same ratio as when I then bump it back to zero.
Anyone have ideas? I am rendering at full clarity. I also thought that the ordering of filters did not matter in 4.5, but notice a huge change in color if i put the color correction filter (with default settings) before my widerscreen or after. Was I just wrong in thinking this was irrelevent in this version?
thanks a ton
