Wide shoot

Hello. I will shoot a scene in film where lead actor goes to the sunset trough the desert to horizon while credits are rolling. The shot begins close to the ground on his feet and goes up in the air on a crane. The question is, what wide lens is good for this, I have 24mm but I don't want it to be to wide with distortions that will specially be noticable while camera is going up.Usually I wouldn't ask this question, I would just experiment and see, but as I have just 24mm, I am asking this because If I need to buy another for this shoot I will.

You shouldn't have distortions with a 24mm. I've shot with an 18mm without distortion. I use that as my limit. Anything wider and I worry...and lock off the shot.

Any Lens okay for this shot

Wide angle lenses will distort if they are not kept level. If you're shooting outside, then make sure your camera stays steady in regard to what ever referents will be in the scene that could promote distortion, i.e. tall trees, cacti, canyon walls.

For a good example, see the extra features disc of "The Shining" where Garrett Brown explains the problems of using a 17mm or 24mm lens on the first Steadicam.
