Wide Screen?

This is probably a stupid question but does Sony Vegas 6.0 come with a widescreen option? I am working on a project and i want the first three minutes in widescreen. I looked on Vegas contents and index but did not find it. If anyone knows how to use the wide screen option (if vegas has one) please help.

Thanks.

Did you shoot in Widescreen, 4:3 or screeze mode? Yes Vegas does have widescreen option, but it's not true widescreen unless you shot in widescreen and imported the footage as widescreen.

Otherwise, when you render your project, go to custom, pick video and you should be able to change to widescreen..

I may be wrong, so maybe somebody else can explain a little better

Well, then...you could crop footage to be widescreen, even after-the-fact. A lot of people do that...it gives them more framing options.

But just dropping the 4:3 into a 16:9 project will give you either weirdly stetched images, or "pillarboxes" (Letterbox bars on the sides, instead of the top/bottom.)

Just in case there was need for further help, when letterboxing and/or cropping in Vegas there's both a 16:9 (DVD Widescreen) and 1.85:1 (cinema movies) preset that you simply have to select from the drop down menu under Pan/Crop, and all the exact cropping is done automatically. If you already knew that, sorry for sounding stupid. ;)

Ben3308 thats accually what i decided to do for the widescreen. I used the 16:9. Thanks for replying though.
