"wide eye I" wide angle adapter. Does this vintage stock work with the DVX100?

I came across a non-zoom-through wide angle adapter called "wide eye I".
It's "old new stock" that dates back to early nineties, very similar to the "Red Eye" as for weight and size. It was conceived for betacam broadcast lenses (Canon, Fujinon, etc.) with a 77 front thread but can be easily adapted for the DV100. Quality is supposedly good as it was targeted to the professional/ENG market. Does anyone ever had a try on a Pana DV100? Any comments/opinions to share.

While the unit is larger than you need in terms of size, it should give you a quality image approx 30% wider than the DVX's lens. The power of these was around .7X I believe.

As you noted you simply need a ring to step the thread on the Wide Eye down to 72mm.

The product was exclusive to Film/Video Equipment in Denver Colorado. They should be able to give you more info if you need it.

I've just recieved the "Wide Eye I" lens adapter that is in very good shape. However, it came with a SSLR (Set-Screw-. Lock-Ring) clamp ring instead of a screw on mount. it looks removable, but I have not been able to removed it by hand. Is it screwed on (to a Series 9 thread may be)? Do you have any suggestion on whether and how it can be detached from the lens body?

Many tks for your support.
