wide angle lens

Wide angle adapters will give you a pronounced barrel rolling effect, which you may not like. Best to try them out before purchasing. Pin cushioning is another bad effect.

Not to mention most are notoriously bad optics unless you spend some major coin. Nothing quite like putting a nasty piece of glass on the front of the DVX's beautiful lens!

Distorted or not, when shooting on location you may not have a choice. Try shooting a full shot in (for instance) a bedroom sometime without a wideangle adapter...or knocking out a wall. :)

Forget the wide angle adaptors. I shot a feature with one and I just about chucked it out the window on several occasions. Save your pennies and get one the anamorphic adapters that are available for the DVX100. The price runs between $500-800 put they are worth every penny.

Now that's the ticket! I've been stuffing dollars under my mattress saving up for an anamorphic. Which one did you use? are you happy with it?
