Wide-Angle Lens Adapter (AG-LW7208G) Question

I have a question concerning the AG-LW7208G wide-angle adapter I want to buy for my Panasonic DVX100A. Here's a link to the product page on panasonic.com:

Now, I'm by no means a lens expert. In fact, I know extremely little about them, so please correct me if I'm saying anything wrong.

The default DVX100A lens has a focal length of 35mm, making it a 35mm lens. I hope that's correct. What focal length would the lens have with the wide angle adapter attached? Are there any downsides to shooting with it?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Wide-Angle Lens Adapter (AG-LW7208G) Question

The DVX lens has a focal length of 4.5mm, which is about equivalent to 32.5mm on a 35mm still camera.

Using the Panasoinc wide-angle will give you a 20% wider field of view (it's a .8 magnification). So 4.5mm * 0.8 = 3.6mm, or roughly equivalent to a 26mm lens on a 35mm camera.
