Wicker Man

All these remakes of good horror movies make me want to puke. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again... remake bad movies with a decent premise. Make them better. Don't piss on brilliant movies with a flashy flick with rappers and WB "stars" in the lead roles.

I think that needs to be put on a plaque or something

Great posts all of you, I think you have really hit hard on some strong points concerning Hollywood, and the current state of movies., I would just like to add one thing,,, Nick Cage while I don't consider him a horrible actor, I liked him in a few movies even, The Family Man, being one of them, In fact I believe this is the type of role he should play. The sad thing is he keeps popping up in movies with roles that are way out of his league acting wise, his persona just doesn't fit. I don't blame Nicky for taking the roles, Hell for a few million bucks I'd play the roles!!! Hollywood is to blame and lazy casting directors, who simply don't find the time to find the right people for the roles!!!!

As for Julia... having just seen her on Bway I'm not so sure she can act anymore... :-)

Sorry for the hijack, but I didn't get a chance to see the show. Was she really that bad?

LOL, yeah she was. It was very apparent to coin a phrase she was the weakest link.
For me, coming from a stage background, I always find it interesting to see when a big name film actor comes to Bway. It usually shows who's really got it and who doesn't.

I find that it tends to work both ways. Each type of acting requires its own skills set. While there are no absolutes, stages actor tend to "over act" in film roles.

Yes, yes... I was waiting for someone to say that. But, like I said, coming from a stage background, I have had a lot more opportunities to see "names" fall on their faces 8 shows a week. It has been fun. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I figured hen you look like Julia Roberts you HAVE to be a world class actor...
I second that, I don't find her attractive at all... Actually i think Lyle Levitt -sp- may have been to good for her, ( I thought he was the elephant man).

With this movie getting ready to play in theaters, I felt the time right to dust this thread off.

This movie will blow chunks. Hollywood will **** the ending up big time. :furious3:

I hope not! But if it does I will probably be at the theatre watching it's demise and wishing i had my money back.

Wicker Man

Has anyone seen this movie? It looks good from the trailer. I just want to know if any one has seen it and if its good enough to see it or not. anyone?

I don't know about this one, but if you haven't seen the original, do yourself a favor and see it.

I doubt this remake has the balls to stick with the original's ending and the ending is pretty much what the entire plot hinges on.

There's no ****ing way Hollywood is going to put Nick "Over the Top" Cage in the movie and stick to the original ending. That said, it's bound to be a letdown.:nads:

Don't bother seeing this travesty. Watch the original and love it.

I must give a  to both Filmjunkie and Blaine as well as a
