Why is Vegas 8 better than Vegas 7 for HDV?

I've read repeatedly that V8 is better than Vegas 7 for HDV editing but no one ever explains why. I know V8 will "smart render" m2t files but is that the only difference? Because I've read 8 doesn't do that very well. If your using the Cineform codec does it make a difference if your using 8 or 7? Vegas 7 is optimized to use quad core processors, is V8 better at this?

Vegas 7 is more reliable according to many so what is the advantage of upgrading to version 8? Thank you.

If Vegas 7 is working for you I would suggest you wait until Vegas 9 comes along. It could have something that makes a bigger difference for you than Pro 8.
