why is my gh2 footage SOO much better than the HMC150?

Is it the sensor difference? The footage off my photo camera GH2 is just worlds better than the 150. I am using really old nikon lenses and it looks wayyyyy sharper! Just everything looks better!

Not just sensor size but also technology!! The little HMC40 1/4" chip camera is way sharper than the CCD's of the HMC150 and now, we believe, the new backlit sensors of the AC-90 make the camera in daylight even sharper than it's big brothers!!
It called progress and the 150, as nice as it is, is technically an old camera ... I compare GH1 footage with my HMC82 cams which have the same chips as the HMC40 and it's pretty comparable...I personally still prefer a video camera t shoot video so my GH1 is used only for stills and I certainly didn't think the footage was that great..however with decent glass and tricky lighting it will certainly outperform most video cameras!!!

These cameras are so specific that by just using a single shot to judge their ability would not be fair. I belong to the group which never mastered how the DVX100 works, so when i bought the GH1 i thought wow! what a wonderful camera, when i bought the HMC151, i could see that the GH1 had an upper hand over the HMC151, but that is not the whole truth.
One will struggle with a GH1/GH2 to get a clean live event like music concert in a setup where the camera was not part of the arrangement, the HMC151 will have an upper hand. Sport events like football matches, motorsport etc the GH1/GH2 will not have a chance against the 150-15X.
For the past three years i have been covering the same live music event during the summer, this year i went there as usual and since i know the stage well or think i know, i placed my three cameras as usual and had the fourth one on a shoulder rig.
Everything seemed ok until darkness fell and the concert started, to my surprise when i looked at the screen on my GH2, it was noise all over tried everything i could changed lenses.. nothing, ran to the GH1 on the tripod, same problem i panicked, the other two cameras, the HMC151 and the AC130 were not showing the same problem. To cut the long story short, one of the company sponsering the event had changed all the lights on stage to LCDs, which to my eyes looked the same but the two GHs cameras just couldn't cope with. All GH1 and GH2 clips from that event are unusable.

Which is the very reason why I shoot video on video cameras not still cameras..I use my HMC's to shoot Realty and weddings and my GH1 to shoot stills..it does a nice job on stills but I certainly don't use it any more for video..I did one shoot only!!

I have both, the HMC150 is much better in less than perfect conditions like very bright light. Also w the kit lens you cannot close pan w the stabilizer on. HMC does this no problem. When using shutter priority, the aperture will change in steps when exposure changes. I guess it depends on your use.
