I'm in 8bit mode in vegas pro 8c, my Pc is a custom build, core 2 dual 2.67 ghz. 4 gig ram, 400 gig system drive, 1t esata internal video storage drive, and a 1t external usb drive. Video in question is on the estata drive.
 
Core2Duo is PUSHING it... that's ok for SD, MAYBE for HDV... but for this stuff... Not so much. I've got 3 core2duo editing machines. The laptop is running 64bit and that seems to help quite a bit...
 
Really? I use this pc to edit my dvcpro footage from my hvx with no problems, I am using raylight ultra with it however. Hmmm....
 
im on a mac pro 8 core with 13 gigs ram in Vegas 9c windows 7

my performance is actually pretty darn good with native mixed formats on timeline (P2, AVCHD, HDV) but I am running into Vegas crashing when all 3 formats are in the timeline.

e.g. i will be doing great with p2 and avchd and then I try to import some hdv and vegas crashes (not necessarily in that order)

the result is I can even get a project laid out to sync up !
