Point was, they don't show it. They show it in B/W. The color version is a bad memory. Trying to make 3D versions of classics will be, too.

Oh, I totally agree. My point was that, no matter how ill-advised it is, I am sure they will give it a go.
After all, in 3-d, you'll totally be able to tell those are little people around Ilsa and Victor's plane in Casablanca.

One thing you notice more when watching old films in HD is just how much process photography they used, not just in cars, but in exteriors and close ups. It's much easier to spot.
