Why? HD/B-RAY

I guess your glass is half empty David.

What isnt hackable, lets be for real? The point is Apple also sold over 850 million songs........ 3million per day. Nice amount of money for the record industry. They control 83% of the internet market, dont you watch your keynotes?

So why would a low res DVD help the movie industry?

Not reading in to deep, just dont find it helpful I guess. No biggie... hoping to talk HD formats not itunes.

itunes is popular because it is said to be cheap... in the US, but I have not seen any ipod yet in Hungary... because it is not so cheap here.
anyway, people will pirate...if not, there would not be thieves on the streets.

iTunes suck. You buy a cd, download it and then you cant play it in Windows Media Player where all your other hundreds of cds have been converted to MP3 and is played. So I have to switch to their player.
They are losing 100s of my $ due to this...

I am sure there are some way to convert it - havent researched too much - I just think it suck. What happened with freedom of choice.

But before the thread is hijacked as an iTunes thread I want to say that if the above article is true then I am happy I am not on the HD TV wagon yet. I have 250+ original DVDs and Have no plans to shift to BlueRay or any other format anyways... I just hope all the classics that I am still waiting to buy will fall on price on DVD so I can get them cheaply...

The point is, an iTunes setup for movies won't "stop piracy," because it's easy to pirate -- and besides, their video service is low-resolution. If you're kicking the walls over 960x540 resolution, then you might be in the ICU for any iTunes offerings.

Well the video content is for the ipod at this time, will see a shift to full res and honestly in two years DVDs in general any format will probably not exsist.

and what is gonna be the final resolution? I mean it has just been changing from 720*576--->1080*720, and will it stop ie at 4096*???? ?
