why dont just do it in a camera?

Give squeeze a try. You'll be surprised. Our 48Hour film was shot in squeeze and the 16:9 came out really well when projected at the theater. You don't loose very much and it's nice to be able to frame the shot without the worry of cutting off heads.

experiment..

Rush.. Dude.. Remember a couple of months ago when I begged for a 1.66, 1.85, 2.35 overlays?
The Aspect Correct guy has them! You gotta get ahold of these things man! They're HOT!

Yeah, I know, and Kenpl came in and measured out all the LCD's, but I still don't have a product to sell. I am hoping soon he will bring them in. I saw Aspect's, but they are like $10 for a pair... It just seemed a bit much, but maybe the costs are getting higher. Kenpl has us selling his 16:9 for $4.95. I am hoping same price for the other 3.5" aspects. He will also have monitor overlays soon. I will post when I have them.

are there any focusing problems with squize mode (and is there any zoom limints like with adapter)?

hmm... i better check it myslef right now.

Since squeeze mode does not alter the lensatic portion of the image, but instead happens afterwards electronically, I would have to say no.

@Rush-Suit yourself about squeeze, but I know that it does work well when projected and it edits perfectly. No matter what you're loosing resolution in 16:9 when you're on 4:3 chips. At least with squeeze you can frame the shot correctly.

Second thing of interest is the evs link you've posted. Are they having a group buy?

I think the "no" was in reference to whether squeeze mode affects focusing and focal length selection..

Which is correct, of course. Squeeze means no compromises whatsoever regarding lenses, focal length, focusing, all that stuff. The only compromise squeeze demands is in regards to overall picture resolution. And even then, it's pretty darn good (when shot in progressive/thin mode).

Thanks Shaw, yes, that is what the "no" stood for. As in "there are NO focus problems with using squeeze".

Somebody was jumping the gun there... :undecided

What evs link do are you referring to, Stephen , and what do you mean by "group buy"? I don't follow. I didn't post any links, except for the SSDVX frame guides, which have 2 pieces in each bag.
