Why does the internet suck on my mac? Help?

I've got a macbook... last year's model... middle level... and the internet just stops... both on Safari and on Firefox... and sometimes it loads up these basic pages w/o any graphics.

When it stops I can hit refresh and nothing happens... the little "busy" thing in the top right corner spins once and that's it... screen doesn't refresh or anything.

Do you know what's up with this? Does anybody else experience this on their mac? I'm on the latest Firefox and the latest Safari... running 10.4 on the mac.

I have this too, on occasion. I also have a wired internet connection. I'm using the same browsers and OSX version as you are, but my Macbook Pro is older. It's the second generation of MBP.

I'm running an iMAC with DSL through my own hardwired 100Base-T network at home. I never have problems, except when my son decides to download some massive number of files and eats up all the bandwidth. Otherwise I've very happy happy with my internet connection via my MAC.

Sometimes I would get this on my Mac, but only with Safari. Usually Firefox would load the pages much better. As of late, I've stuck with Safari cuz it hasn't caused me any pain.

Might want to tweak network settings, if your using a wireless router, that usually can reek havoc.

I've owned my G5 for about 3 years, no problems (every). Now on my powerbook sometimes this happens, but after I reset no problems at all. Maybe it's the base, I'd start there. :)
