Why does the Compressor gets the image brighter?

You can also use the controls in compressor, I always have to increase the gamma by one or two points.

bigboss is right - the FCP viewer window is very murky. If you've CC'd to make it look right there, you've almost certainly overbrightened it for most everywhere else.

If you can afford it, a Matrox MXO is a great solution along with a second display (the 23" Apple Cinema Display is ideal although no longer made), especially if you add a calibration tool like the Spyder2. It all adds up, but it's still much cheaper than a dedicated HD Broadcast monitor of similar size.

Otherwise, the Viewer window must be cross-referenced elsewhere for accuracy. There's no way within FCP or the OS to make it particularly close. Hopefully Apple will address this glaring issue in a future upgrade.
