Why does my aspect ratio change when...

Why does my aspect ratio change when I export my sequence using either FCP Compressor or "export quicktime" option in Final Cut Pro? It is a perfect 1:85 ratio and then when I compress it to uncompressed 10 bit or 8 bit, it becomes a square (4:3) ratio. Why does this happen?

(Footage originally shot with HVX200, 720/24pN.)

My sequence settings...

Frame Size - 960x720.
Aspect ratio - HD (960x720) (16:9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio HD (960x720)

Note - I just dragged on dropped my raw footage file onto my timeline. When getting the message "For best performance your sequence and External Video should be set to the format of the clips you are editing. Change sequence settings to match clip settings?", I clicked "Yes".

You can change and save the aspect ratio of .mov files in the QT settings. This helps if you did an 'export to Quicktime' with your FCP footage.

It's strange because the aspect ratio settings are the same when I export with just regular quicktime and when I do uncompressed 10/8 bit. The ratio is the same but when I see it in front of me, the uncompressed has a square aspect ratio.

Oh, do you mean I open the file up with Quicktime and go into "show movie properties", then change the 960x720 to 1280x720?
