I'm with you there. It only takes a minute to post a new thread, several minutes to search if you type in the wrong keywords.Super Trooper said:Don't really know, but I personally don't even bother to search.
I just start new threads.
Sure, it might have already been answered before in previous posts. Maybe even dozens of times before.
I'll take the risk.
Cuz I'm like that.

Its actually about how Database intensive it is, but i hope dvxuser is running on a dedicated box (or 2) but there are ways to optimize the database and or search process. ( DVX user could use google to index there information, and have a google powered search, instead of an internal database.)filmguy123 said:yup searching takes bandwidth. If you have a thousand users sending searches every few seconds it's going to suck a lot of bandwidth. There is two problems with this:
1.) It will slow things down, potentially a lot.
2.) Bandwidth costs $$ (not like a penny a kilobyte or something, but rather there is a plan with a monthly usage limit. if that limit is reached, you pay more or the site stops functioning until the next month).
The main reason is most likely due to speed issues and overwhelming the server with search queries.
