Why can't I print to video

This isn't really a fcp question as much as a dvx one. i am trying to print to video and it wont show up on the dvx. Is there a setting to allow DV in. Also, I was trying to give some footage to someone and we hooked our two cameras up using the firewire, but my camera wouldn't connect for some reason. I'm thinking the two problems are related. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Well, hopefully it's not a fried firewire port.

Try this: plug the DVX into your mac through firewire, turn it on, and open the system profiler. Then go down to the firewire section. Does your DVX show up here? If not, your port might be fried (which can happen if you don't plug/un-plug it properly). For reference, you always want to turn off the DVX, then connect firewire, then turn it back on. And turn it off again before unplugging.
