Why are my quicktime bounces always pixelly?

Hey everybody! Glad to find such an active and informative forum for my new hobby/venture!

My background is post production/locatin audio but lately some shooting jobs have come my way. Trying to get as much help as I can so I can produce the best possible work. Here's my problem:

I've been shooting on a DVX100a. I'm shooting in scene file f4. I take the footage into final cut, looks great. I can make my viewing window in final cut as big as my screen will allow, footage looks great.

However, any different way I export it, it looks "pixelly/liney" would be the best way I can put it. Somehow there is some coversion/degradation taking place that makes it look a lot worse than it looks before I export it.

I have tried countless ways of exporting it to no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

In QuickTime Player, Show Movie Properties then select Visual Settings, High Quality. The default setting is half-resolution for improved Playback speed.
