I believe the original models were made 70 years ago and they haven't put any money into R&D since then.  ;) I guess they think, "Why reinvent the wheel?" But come on, enough is enough. Those things are ugly!

They look like the little plastic Kodak instamatic camera my mom had in the '70s.

Maybe they're going for the retro look. But come on, atleast add an LCD or an LED light. Actually, I think it's the only camera the Amish are allowed to use. ;D

You're wrong there PK. I've seen this Amish couple with a 5 megapixel camera with flash not candles. No joke, they were also pimpin in a brand new hybrid Toyota.

You're kidding, right? Leicas are beautiful cameras and even more so against the ugly digicams of today. Or course, I think my Hasselblads are gorgeous, too.

Holy crap, that's nice, any specs? cost? I dont think that one looks one bit stupid. I have also heard leica makes nice spotting scopes

As for cost, I think it's going for a couple grand. A little out of my budget, but it is a nice camera.

Wow. I think that Leica is a beautiful camera. I don't see ugly in it at all.

Yeah, I think it's got a cool look. I just dig *SLRs*... which, of course, Leicas are not.

Hey, I never said they weren't excellent tools. The design pattern just seems stuck in the '50s, that's all. Simply not to my personal taste.

Understood.  :)  I think they look cool, but I don't *want* one.

Again, I'm just not down with rangefinder cameras.
