Does the 3x3 mattebox add significant width to the front of the cam? is the mattebox sturdy enough to leave this box on fulltime and store the cam away in my Kata bag?

Yes they made the filter trays much improved, with a self contained ledge instead of the "springs" they had earlier.


The 3x3 doesnt add to much width to the front, and is why its so great. You can leave it on all the time. Ask Jonh if it will fit in the Kata, he has the Kata and the 3x3.

I noticed that the rods in your review are possibly carbon fiber? Can we get the rods for cheaper if they'er aluminum?
Or is the $299 already the price for the aluminum rods?

I think they only make carbon fiber rods, and they are definately cool. They are in the $299 price.

French Flag is an extra $30.

Darn! I wanted the Aluminum rods.. stands out more ;D

Plus.. those tiny rods can't be that much heavier right?

im sure you can goto home depot and pick up some aluminum rods for $10 if you want it that bad.. or onlinemetals.com

With the Mattebox on the DVX it WILL NOT fit in the Kata Bag (Need a bigger one now :(
