I wanna save a Freeze Frame I made into my HD. I know its there, but how do I "scratch disk" it to my desktop(lets say)

Re: Whos up for another dumb question?

You can export it as a still. Just open it in your source monitor, select FILE/EXPORT/Using Quicktime Conversion.

Change Format to "Still Image" and click options to make it a TIFF, TARGA, PICT, JPEG, etc. Whatever you want.

Save it to the desktop.

when I export stills, they come out stetched wide. I can use a photo editing program to rescale it, but is there anyway to get them to export properly to begin with?

DV pixels aren't square. You could try changing the pixel dimensions from 720x480 to either 640x480 or 720x540 during the export - or just do it in Photoshop.

Photoshop 8 can make the conversion from .9 to 1.0 ratio images, allowing you to fix stretch. In earlier versions, just do the math and reduce the width to height by .9 and you will do the same thing.
