Wholesale vs. Retail

Really just curious here, but I'm wondering what is the mark-up difference on retail as compared to wholesale? It can't be all that much on cameras and other similar electronic equipment, can it?

I'm trying to get in touch with a guy who says he'll offer me equipment at wholesale cost (he likes what I do). He used to do a lot of television work, and became a distributor to lessen his cost on equip. I'm just curious as to how much he can save me. Maybe nobody knows...

Stay away Morgon. Having worked in retail, I can assure you, wholesale is rarely more than 5-8% off, and who knows if you get a warranty. The guy will still want to make some money off you, unless he's your brother or something. So after all is said and done, unless you are buying used, it's not worth it.
