Who subscribes to Hulu?

My question is, do they keep current with episodes from network shows? If so, how long after airing are shows available to be streamed?

But, on many shows you better get to watching because the episode start to disappear in a week or a little longer. Again depends on the show. I may drop mine in favor of Prime, I don't watch Hulu enough to really justify the money.

Some shows, not all of them and not all networks. As far as need for live TV, none of us need anything beyond our local broadcasters and then really only in times of emergency and you'll probably be running on a battery at that point.

I really just mean the broadcast networks -- ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX. There are on-demand shows available, and for the previous season, just wanted to know if they stay current. I don't have a way of testing it until the broadcast season starts up again.

A lot of NBC is on their stream, but some things from ABC show up. The big problem as you say is that we are between seasons and difficult to check. But I think they still have an ad based web version that is free.

if you have something specific I can look and see exactly what is currently available for you. But as far as when stuff starts, I get lost and have missed several things only to remember to check and see that the first few episodes are no longer available. the I wait until summer when Netflix gets them. And truthfully, there isn't a lot of content that I want from network TV anymore.

I did look into Sling TV, it really doesn't save anything over DirecTV streaming only service (both start around $50 a month).

I think the answer is probably. But I bet you end up buying a few months while leaving the cable connected to prove the point.

You also need a friendly device that makes it easy for her to find the show and watch. Some of the newer bluray players have streaming clients and the one I have is OK. A FireTV or something like that might be easier to use. The Android TV boxes (if you buy a powerful enough one) with a little wireless mouse/keyboard (size of a big remote) can be useful as well. Depends on her level of comfort with this type of device.

[edit 2]

Also if you can get her to start using a small screen (tablet), then it gets a little easier. Most of these streaming clients on bluray players will sync with your tablet app, so you can select the shows and put them in your queue, and or send them to the device for playback. Works pretty well.

I've got the apps well-covered. Blu-ray players, TV, Firestick . . .

But that's what I needed to know. Thanks.
