I've only called there once, so I dont know if I'm qualified to reply to this. I talked to Rush when I called to talk about matte boxes and filters. I made it clear that I was not going to buy right away and he still talked me through many aspects of the products I was looking at, and made recommendations I had not thought about. Very nice and very knowledgable, in my opinion.

I also spoke to "Rush" when I purchased my camera. He is more than happy to answer your questions.
I've been in there a couple of times now and have twice gotten VERY bogus information that made me shop elsewhere.
First, I was informed that the Cobra Crane I would not support the DVX-100a (not true) and that I would need a Cobra Crane II. I was then informed that the Cobra Cranes do not have tilt control (they do). I finally got the right information from Promax, the makers of the Cobra Crane, and went back to EVS to purchase. I was then told that the mounting bracket that is supposed to come free with the Cobra Crane was an extra $75.
I bought the Cobra Crane I, which easily supports my DVX-100a and does have tilt control, directly from Promax.
Second, I went in to shop for a Steadytracker. They have one on display there, but I was told by the salesperson that what I was holding was NOT the Steadytracker (it was) but a monopod! So certain was he that I began to doubt myself. I went back to Promax once again, found out that I was indeed holding the Steadytracker at EVS, and then ordered directly from Promax again.
I have bought a couple of accessories from EVS, including a 16x9 LCD monitor, but now I have my doubts as to the deal I got or whether a better solution even exists. I now think twice about going to them.

Actually the label just said Promax and had the Promax address. Asked about the large counter-balance on the bottom, the guy said, "that's so it doesn't fall over when you set it down." And yes, he was serious.
