I get the strangest message when i try to play ten.mov

Couldn't open te file "Ten.mov" because a bad public movie atom was found in the movie?!?!?

The myth,
The mod,
The 10K resident zombie man.

Sorry, haven't seen that issue. I'm sure one of the local Quicktime guys will respond.

Hmmm, no problems here. What version of Quicktime are you guys using? (I've got 6.5.0.48 running on XP pro).

I'm on a licensed version of XP Pro and John's movie does not work whether by stream or right-click-save-as.

I'm sad today.

I've just upgraded my iTunes on XP to the latest 4.8 which also installs the latest Quicktime and it still get the message "Couldn't open te file "Ten.mov" because a bad public movie atom was found in the movie"

I also tried to load it into Adobe Premiere 1.5 and it popped up a window that said "The importer reported a generic error"

Hudson (Houston), we got a problem...

Found this on a search:

"Atoms are the pieces of QuickTime files that hold information.

A movie atom is one that holds movie information.

A public atom is one that is to be read by the player, and presented, as opposed to internal bookkeeping information.

Obviously, you had a bad public movie atom, duh.

:smokey:

Seriously, sounds like it simply got corrupted in transit. Try zipping it up or something and see if that fixes it."

There was two places I clicked on this movie and one works. The movie from the banner ad link doesn't work but the one in the post named "10,000" in the Cafe ala DVX forum does work.

DL the one in the forum not the ban... also be sure to save to desktop. I had to DL a second time using these guidelines and it works now.
