Who all uses Litepanels? Are they great?

I read they were used on "24" and whatnot, they sound fantastic.
Would they be somewhat sufficient as the only on-hand light source? Because.. I have nothing.

I heard you can build your own, is this true? Is it cost effective? I hear the LED's required are still very expensive.

Thanks,
Toby

I'm working on a side-by-side comparison of all the different LED video lights on the market. Hopefully we'll have something substantial in a month or two.

That will be great. Looking forward to the info!

I have a LitePanel and yes, it's "all that" and more. But, if you don't need the dimming capability and can live with AC power get yourself a small 8W fluorescent lightbulb and tape it to your camera, because it will do nearly the same thing.

Don't get me wrong, the LitePanels is an AWESOME light, but if you want one, you're really gonna pay. Brother, you're gonna pay! That's the only downside.
