Who added the FHD(Full HD) ICON to MJPEG?

If you set the MJPEG video to 1920x1080 with the GF1(Maybe GH1 as well) it will show an FHD Icon on the top of the screen. The question is who put it there? Did Tester13 put it there or was it something Panasonic put in but never activated?

If Tester13 didn't add the icon then it indicates that Panny intended to do 1080p MJPEG but did not to actually implement it. I wonder if SD cards were not fast enough when the GH1 and perhaps when the GF1 was launched to enable the 1080p MJPEG setting.

What were your settings in Ptool? I'll try to recreate on my GH1.

Currently I am using the following values. It is stable with legacy manual focus lenses in most situations. However, it will not playback the files in camera. It just shows the first frame.

E1Q = 300
E2Q = 275
E3Q = 250
E4Q = 225

E1T = 175
E2T = 160
E3T = 145
E4T = 130

Horizontal set to 1920
Vertical set to 1080

What peak data rates are you getting?

What peak data rates are you getting?

Pappas

30-40 mb/sec when I shoot video inside.

60+ mb/sec when I shoot outside in bright sunlight.

I was able to shoot completely stable 1080p @ 40 mb/sec video indoors tonight. It even worked with the 20mm indoors. There is a huge spike in bit rate if you use a wide angle lens in bright light with very detailed scenery like when you record trees swaying in the wind.
