White Seemless Shoot Brevis/ Nikon Lenses

Hey,

So I am doing a shoot using the HVX w/ Brevis and shooting w/ Nikon lenses. What I am doing...

Zooming out on the HVX so it creates a box frame around the talent.

The problem is--the lenses I am using wont let me get the entire person in full frame unless I use a wide lense but then I am outside of the white seemless paper.

So my question is can I use a wide lense (28MM) and garbage matte the space that is outside the white seemless paper? Matte it all white so it looks the same? I know I can do this if I zoom in so the entire frame is full on the lenses...but can I still do it if I have have the frame in side the frame?

I attached a style frame of what I am going for...so imagine that on the right and left of these guys is outside of the white seemless and its just a brick wall...can I pull that out in post?

If I understand your question correctly: yes.

You can also try to move back as much as possible and then use a longer focal length lens. This will "compress" the background and might let you fill more of the frame with the seamless and also reduce the distortion associated with using a wide angel lens otherwise.
